A social and recreational music and dance form of the Ewe, descended from the older Atrikpui war music. It is built on a bell pattern struck on the gankogui, with axatse rattles, kidi and sogo drums, and lead statements on the atsimevu. Agbadza is performed at funerals, festivals and communal gatherings.
Agbadza is danced with the torso bent forward and the arms drawn in like folded wings.
