The Ghana News Agency (2022) describes it as the Ga Twins Festival, marked by the chant 'Yee, yee-yee', heralding the Homowo durbar; MyJoyOnline reports twins being ritually cleansed, smeared with white clay, dressed in white and served otɔ. Zimmermann (1858) glosses Akwele as the name given to the first of female twins.
