One of the two royal houses ('gates') of Dagbon whose members are eligible for the Ya-Na skin; the other is Abudu. Owusu-Mensah (2022) identifies the two as the main parties to the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis, and notes that the British introduced a rotation between them in 1948.
