Asebu is a town and former Fante chiefdom in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, Central Region. Under the 1612 Treaty of Asebu the Dutch established Fort Nassau at Mouri (Moree); Asebu later came under Fante control and was integrated into Fante by the 1720s.
