Bambolse is the Gurensi term for the geometric and figurative wall paintings made by women on compound walls in north-eastern Ghana. The murals are renewed every few years, and the practice has been revived in Sirigu through the Sirigu Women's Organization of Pottery and Art (SWOPA). Visonà et al. note that among the Nankani of Sirigu men build the compounds and women decorate them.
In Sirigu, women renew the bambolse murals on compound walls, a practice SWOPA now promotes.
