Bentsir is the name of Asafo companies in Fante towns. In Cape Coast (Oguaa) Bentsir is No. 1 of the seven Asafo companies, associated with the colour red; Kormantse also has a Bentsir company whose music is the subject of Aduonum's ethnography.
