A coastal town in Jomoro, about 90 km west of Takoradi, and the traditional capital of the Western Nzema Traditional Area. It is the site of Fort Apollonia, the last English fort built on the Gold Coast (begun 1768 with the permission of the Nzema chief Amenihyia), which has housed the Museum of Nzema Culture and History since 2010.
