Bragoro (also brapue) is the Akan nubility (puberty) rite marking a girl's transition to womanhood after first menstruation. During the rite the girl is treated as a queen mother: she is 'enstooled', kept secluded and pampered; the practice is declining.
Her family celebrated her bragoro.
