Chiana is a Kasena town and the seat of the Chiana Traditional Area, one of the principal Kasena chiefdoms alongside Navrongo, Paga, Kayoro, Katiu and Nakon. It is in Kassena-Nankana West District and has a major market on a six-day cycle.
