The Ga gods or divinities of traditional religion (singular dzemawɔŋ). Zimmermann (1858) glosses dsemawon as a 'fetish of a certain place'; Matczynski (2022) defines jemawɔŋ as Ga deities associated with geographic locations; Adjei (2006) places the jemawoji next below Nyɔŋmɔ, created yet immortal.
Each of the town's dzemawodzi had its own priest and shrine.
