Ebore (Ebɔrɛ) is the Gonja word for God; in lowercase it can also mean a god or lesser deity, and the root bɔrɛ also means 'rain'. It appears in compounds and names such as Ewura Ebɔrɛ ('Lord God') and Esapɔ ('God the Giver').
