Among the Fante, the egyabosom (literally 'father's deity') is a deity inherited through the paternal line, through which the significance of the father's line is expressed in worship. Christensen equates it with the Asante ntoro and links it to the Fante idea of inheriting 'blood' from the father, complementing matrilineal membership of the abusua.
