Ewe title for a paramount chief, i.e. the senior chief over a group of town chiefs (dufiawo). Adotey (2018), writing on Ewe chieftaincy on the Ghana–Togo border, glosses fiaga as 'paramount chief' and lists it alongside the mankralo and asafohene among high-ranking office-holders whose funerals require special rites. Each fiaga stool carries its own stool name (e.g. Gle in Nyive-Togo, Aklama in Nyive-Ghana, per Adotey's Table 1).
The installation of a new fiagã is preceded by enstoolment rites in which the stool custodian plays a central part.
