The annual festival of the Anlo Ewe held at Anloga, commemorating the escape from Notsie under the tyranny of King Agokoli and the walking-backwards migration that followed. Observances include ritual purification, reconciliation of disputes and a grand durbar of chiefs. Its name refers to the exodus itself.
Hogbetsotso opens with the cleansing of the Anlo state and the settling of outstanding quarrels.
