Kagbape is a chieftaincy associated with Buipe; its chief, the Kagbapewura, is described as coming under the Buipewura. Gonja tradition links Kagbape to Ndewura Jakpa's burial at Buipe and to rites performed at his tomb.
Elders from Kagbape join the Buipewura's party on the yearly visit to Jakpa's tomb.
