In Kpembe, Kasawulewura is the title of the earth priests (tindanas) who perform rituals for the land; the chief supplies the offerings, such as a goat, fowl or cow, to pacify the earth, for example when the rains fail.
When the rains failed, the Kasawulewura performed earth rituals with a goat provided by the chief.
