A two-stringed plucked lute of the Frafra and neighbouring peoples, with a calabash body and a long neck. It accompanies sung commentary and praise poetry, and underpins the Frafra popular style that grew from it. Players are often itinerant singers.
The kologo player sings commentary on local affairs between instrumental phrases.
