The principal traditional religious cult of the Ga and its music. Nketia (1958) calls Kple 'the principal cult of the Ga people', its music using gongs, the obene stamping dance and a mainly pentatonic scale. Potočnik (2017) glosses it as Ga traditional religion of Guan origin. Kilson's Kpele Lala (1971) is the standard study of its songs.
Scholars study kpele songs to understand older Ga religious ideas.
