Kpembe is a town about 2 km from Salaga in East Gonja and the traditional capital of the Kpembe division, one of the five gates to the Yagbonwura paramountcy. Its chief, the Kpembewura, is overlord of Salaga, and the Kpembe skin rotates among the Lepo, Kanyase and Singbung gates.
