Kwonna is one of the Fante family groups (clans) listed by Sarbah among the 'seven great families', where it is grouped with Ebiradzi or Odumna. Sarbah notes that members of a clan call one another brothers and sisters and that it was unusual for free members of the same clan to intermarry.
