Larabanga is a town in West Gonja near the entrance to Mole National Park, known for its whitewashed Sudano-Sahelian mud mosque, reputed to be the oldest in Ghana, and for the nearby Mystic Stone. It is a long-established Muslim centre; Massing records that its imams claim M'marra or Kambara descent.
Visitors to Mole National Park usually pass through Larabanga to see its mosque.
