Limam is the Gonja form of 'imam', a Muslim prayer leader. The highest holder is the Yagbon Limam, chief imam of the Gonja kingdom. Divisional imamships were historically held by the Sakpare ('Jakpa's Muslims'), mostly of the Kamaghate patronymic.
The Yagbon Limam resides at Damongo alongside the Yagbonwura.
