Manye is the title of a queen mother. Wikipedia, citing Farrar (1997, Journal of Black Studies), states that in Ga tradition queen mothers are called manye, 'community mother'; the queen mother of the Ga State is styled Ga Manye. The title is also used by Krobo (Dangme) queen mothers, on whom Steegstra (2009, Africa Today) has written.
Accounts of the Ga State refer to its queen mother as the Ga Manye.
