'Walking Damba', the slow-paced Damba music used for processions and stately dancing (Tufts 'Dagomba Dance Drumming'). In Chernoff's 'A Drummer's Testament' (ch. II-17) the drummer says that when drummers beat while someone is walking, or follow people riding horses, 'we call it sochɛndi'.
The drummers played Sochendi as the chief's procession moved through the town.
