Sogo is a medium-to-large barrel drum of the Anlo Ewe dance-drumming ensemble, played with sticks or hands. Ladzekpo describes it as the next most visible drum after the lead drum, serving as a lead drum in some genres and as a supporting drum in others, where stick techniques produce two distinct pitches.
In Agbekor the sogo answers the lead drum's calls.
