The Talensi (Tallensi) are a Gur-speaking people of the Tong Hills area of the Upper East Region, who speak Talni, a Farefare dialect. They are the subject of Meyer Fortes's classic ethnographies (1945, 1949) and the custodians of the Tongnaab shrines at Tengzug.
The Talensi live around the Tong Hills.
