Tigare (Tigari) is a protective medicine deity of northern Ghanaian origin, whose shrines spread through southern Ghana as an anti-witchcraft movement. Vetter's Grinnell field notes say its followers regard Tigare as especially effective against evil magic, and that its ceremonies use northern pressure drums and rattles. Venkatachalam indexes Tigare both as an anti-witchcraft movement and as a deity alongside Kunde/Brekete.
A Tigare shrine offered protection against witchcraft to its members.
