The principal earth and ancestral shrine of the Talensi at Tengzug in the Tong Hills, whose reputation drew pilgrims from across the Gold Coast and beyond. Colonial administrators attempted to suppress it in the early twentieth century, and its cult travelled south under other names. It remains an active site of consultation.
