Weku is the Ga term for a family or kin group. Zimmermann (1858) glosses it 'family; relationship' (plural wekui and wekumei) and records compounds such as wekutsɛ 'family-father, family-head', mantsɛweku 'royal family' and wɔŋweku 'fetish-family' (a deity's group).
Members of the weku met to discuss the funeral.
