The paramount king of Dagbon, seated at Yendi, whose authority descends from Naa Gbewaa. The office alternates by custom between the Abudu and Andani gates of the royal family, a rotation at the centre of the Dagbon chieftaincy dispute. The Yaa Naa is enskinned rather than enstooled.
The Yaa Naa sits on skins at the Gbewaa Palace to receive the divisional chiefs.
