A closed initiatory religious order of the southern Ewe devoted to the thunder divinity Heviɔsɔ and associated deities. Initiates undergo a long seclusion, receive new names and a ritual language, and are bound by strict prohibitions. Yeve has its own drum repertory, including Husago, Sogba and Adavu.
