A Muslim elder's title at Yendi connected with the Damba festival. In Chernoff's 'A Drummer's Testament' (ch. II-20) the drummer says 'Yidan Moli, he is for the Damba': he announces the Damba month to the chief and is responsible for the cow slaughtered on Damba day. The drummer says the office-holder's line is of Mossi origin.
The Yidan Moli came to tell the chief that the Damba month had begun.
