A zaalenga is a netted rope bag, woven from kenaf fibre, that hangs in a woman's room and holds her calabash bowls. It is also a Sirigu wall-painting motif, with 'male' (zaalin daa) and 'female' (zaalin nyanga) variants.
Her calabashes hung safely in the zaalenga.
