Zangbeto are Vodun guardian masquerades of the Ogu (Egun) people, appearing as whirling raffia-covered figures. Okunola and Ojo describe Zangbeto in Badagry as a traditional mechanism of community policing and dispute resolution. The name is commonly glossed 'people of the night' / night-watchmen.
Zangbeto patrols are a feature of Ogu festivals.
